Nelson

Nelson is a great place to stay, summer and winter.

Within the city you may visit museums like the Suter Art Gallery or the Provincial Museum. You may be interested to see the historical buildings in South Street or just go for a short walk up to the Centre of New Zealand. By the way, the walk to the Centre of New Zealand starts at the Botanical reserve where back in May 1870 the first ever New Zealand rugby game took place!

Don’t miss the famous WOW, the World of Wearable Art and classic car museum out in Stoke.

Founders Heritage Park shouldn’t be missed, especially with children.

The Saturday Market at Montgomery Square is a must do at weekends and you will enjoy the colourful atmosphere.

To relax go to the famous and beautiful sandy Tahunanui Beach with it’s play grounds, Natureland Zoo, café and many other attractions.

Nelson has a great climate with lot’s of sunshine hours, the most in New Zealand. That makes the area ideal for growing grapes and produces some of the best wines of the country. You could try them on one of the popular guided wine tours.
